The Easter Weekend has come to a close. And to ring in the end, I am blighted with a great big stonking insomnia. I went to bed at 11pm, cosy under the duvet, welcoming sleep with open arms. Instead I lie awake checking the clock every 30 minutes, fretting over not gaining entry into the elusive land of nod.

After three hours, I give up and I’m now awake and reading articles on insomnia in pregnancy. On the babycenter website, it says

8 out of 10 women have insomnia and other sleep problems during pregnancy.

The American Pregnancy Association recommends several solutions like trying new sleeping positions, drinking a cup of warm milk and exercising during the day.

I’ve tried all of them and none of them have worked. So it’s now down to a matter of stop moaning and put up with it.

That is the best solution right now.

For the finish line is close.
