My Christmas reading list

Every Christmas I put together a list of books to read over the festive break. It normally lasts around two weeks.

It’s a time to recharge and reboot.

As soon as the kids go to bed, high on Christmas excitement, I curl up on the sofa – with a glass of port – and throw myself into the solitary joy of reading.

My reading list tends to be a mix of fiction, theory/criticism and lifestyle. Photography and fashion books are obviously absent this year.

Here’s what I’ll be reading this Christmas.

1) 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami

2) Still Writing: The Perils and Pleasures of a Creative Life by Dani Shapiro

3) A Change of Appetite: where delicious meets healthy by Diana Henry

4) The Circle by Dave Eggers

5) Art & Fear: Observations on the Perils (and Rewards) of Artmaking by David Bayles

Do you also have a bunch of books you plan on reading over the Christmas break? I’d love to hear about your reading list.
