The Dot

I’m back with @homedad75‘s Fiction Friday. Got a bit caught up with deadlines the last two months and it was nigh impossible to focus on anything else.

To make up for my Fiction Friday disappearance, I’ve dug out my favourite book from the kids’ ‘library’. It’s called The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. And this is how the story begins.

The art class was over, but Vashti sat glued to her chair.

Her paper was empty.

Vashti’s teacher leaned over the blank paper.

“Ah! A polar bear in a snow storm,” she said.

“Very funny! Said Vashti. “I just CAN’T draw!”

Her teacher smiled.

“Just make a mark and see where it takes you.”

  1. This sounds great! I have a daughter who is convinced she can’t draw – I will try and get hold of this book.

    • It is a wonderful little book. Uplifting even for adults. I’ll introduce a few more art-themed books over the weeks, which your little girl might like.
